Yes, Developers who work with this product are allowed to publish a website based on the platform components for 'personal use' on the internet at no cost at all. They only thing you need to do is request for a free production license key. There are some limitations to this free license.

How do I get a free production license key for my website created with GX WebManager CE?

You can request for a free production license key on GXdeveloperweb.com. For local development you don't need a special key. The local development key is included in the initial download.

What are the limitations of live websites published with GX WebManager CE?

User rights for use of the GX WebManager CE for production or live website purpose are limited to the use of the following ‘platform components’: Content Management – Basic; Content Management – Advanced; Versioning; Search; Engine Optimization; Authorization  - Users; Authorization - Roles & Permissions; Workflow Models; Personalization Profiles & User Access; Personalization Rules Toolkit; Fonts & Styles; Page Sections; ObjectManager; Caching (Reverse Proxy); Media Repository; Advanced Forms; Application Management & Session Logging. All other additional functional components of the software then specified above, including Clustering,  are limited in use and may only be used for testing, development, trial and/or demo purposes on a local webserver (i.e. on 'localhost') and can therefore not  be used for live websites or production purposes.

User rights for use of the software  for production or live website purposes are always limited for 1 installation, server, URL for only 1 web initiative.

User rights for use of the software for production or live website purposes are always limited  to be used in combination with the following databases and application services: MySQL, Derby, Apache Tomcat and JBoss.

User rights for use of the software for production or live website purposes are only granted if a ‘GX WebManager production license’ key is directly obtained from GX.

Maintenance and Support contracts or other means of official GX support are not available for the GX WebManager CE

Can large commercial sites also run on GX WebManager Community Edition?

No. GX WebManager CE is a Web Content Management software intended for use by developers only. Enterprise users should obtain a license for one of the paid editions of GX WebManager.

Can GX WebManager CE users call the GX Helpdesk or Partner/Developer support?

No. GX Customer Services is only available for customers, i.e. users with a valid maintenance contract and a valid license agreement for one of the paid editions of GX WebManager. Support and maintenance contracts are not available for the GX WebManager CE installations. GX partner support and GX developer support are only available for certified partners and developers with a valid Developer Support or Professional Services contract.
